Cyenthia Vijaykumar was initiated into Lucknow Gharana of Kathak by her Guru Murari Sharan Gupta, she was later trained by Guru Hari and Chethna from Bangalore, India. She is currently being mentored and trained by her Guru MBE (Member of the British Excellence)Sujatha Banerjee from London. She has performed in many prestigious platforms in USA and India. Some of her accolades are Nritya Shiromani and Sashimani Devadasi Yuva Pratibha Puraskar and she has also been an Indian Raga Fellow.

“Never ever give up on whatever you love to do! Good dancers are not born talented. They have been taught and trained and pursued practicing without giving up” is what she believes in.

Aarambh Kathak Dance School 

Aarambh Kathak Dance School was founded by artistic director and choreographer Cyenthia Vijayakumar. Aarambh follows ISTD syllabus which is a recognized syllabus in USA and UK. ISTD is one of the world’s leading dance examination boards. Aarambh  teaches all ages and levels.  Aarambh Kathak Dance School is the only ISTD (Imperial Society for Teachers of Dance) certified school in Wisconsin.  Aarambh is at the forefront of promoting Kathak – North Indian classical dance for a much diverse group of people in Milwaukee, WI. We create, produce and present new choreographic works and also partner with other genres to create new productions."
